'People are afraid' - why 'powerhouse' Arsenal have become the squad everyone fears.

There's little doubt why Arsenal stand as countless pundits' top picks to secure the Premier League in the current campaign.

Consider their outcomes against Fulham and Crystal Palace versus those same matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have overcome all of them in the current season, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race last season.

Impenetrable Defense

Arsenal's defensive solidity is a crucial element why they are looking well positioned to at last realize their title goal.

They lead the league for clean sheets (6), shots let in (3), shots faced (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the strongest in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Mastery

Their effectiveness from free kicks is highly documented, but opposition teams still struggle to neutralize the Gunners from these chances.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, several additional than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just wary of them and it is excellent to see."

Title Potential

What is particularly notable about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City on home turf - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their long-standing opponents face difficulties. This marks the premier instance at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on boss Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having invested around £250m on eight summer additions in quest of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far yielded results in remarkable manner, with his side second top scorers in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without letting in a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and analysts have characterized Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now operating with conviction and resolve.
