Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a former world number one, has had a challenging period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former coach his previous coach.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after spring of that year.
Victory also means the Russian has won 21 championships at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
His defensive strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted some to question if his ability to compete at the top level was concluded.
However the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an better serve.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the last five points to go ahead.
The pair traded breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a third set.
He rescued four early chances in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
